The Maldives will officially take part in the 2026 Asian Cricket Council (ACC) U-19 Women’s Premier Cup.
Hosted by the Malaysian Cricket Association (MCA), the upcoming competition will run from July 11 - 18 in Malaysia.
Alongside Maldives, the tournament features five other competing nations: Thailand, Bhutan, Cambodia, Indonesia, and Uzbekistan.
The initial group stage will be played in a round-robin format, meaning every single team will play against one another, which will then lead into knockout matches to decide the final winner.
The main goal of the event is to offer international match experience to young female players from Associate Member countries, helping them get ready for larger regional and worldwide cricket events.
The host nation, Malaysia, holds a strong history of executing ACC regional competitions successfully.
In order to get fully ready, the Maldives U-19 Women’s national squad will fly out to Malaysia prior to the official start date to take part in a pre-tournament preparation camp.
This tournament arrives right after the Men’s Challenger Cup that took place in Singapore this past June, emphasizing a highly active timeframe for cricket across South Asia and Southeast Asia.
