Muizzu won power through deception, lacks economic understanding: Saudulla
Former Deputy Minister Saudulla Ahmed has criticized President Dr. Muizzu’s administration, stating that the lack of a coherent economic policy has led to a decline in living standards and widespread disillusionment among business owners and civil servants. He highlighted the significant hardships faced by the public due to rising commodity prices, surging electricity bills, and the appreciating dollar rate. Furthermore, Saudulla condemned the government's failure to take effective measures to address the country's deteriorating economic situation.

Former Deputy Minister Saudulla Ahmed has stated that President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu ascended to power through outright deception and lacks any coherent economic policy.
Speaking on RaajjeTV’s "Fala Surukhee" program, he stated that President Muizzu assumed office by making grand promises and presenting an ambitious vision to the public.
However, Saudulla stated that the living conditions of the people have continued to deteriorate day by day since President Muizzu assumed office.
Saudulla stated that the public has reached a point of desperation, noting that it is not only business owners who are struggling under the current administration. He further highlighted that civil servants are also facing deep disillusionment. This sentiment, he explained, stems from the overwhelming burden of rising electricity bills and other escalating living expenses.
Despite the current situation, Saudulla alleged that President Muizzu lacks even the most basic awareness of the people's plight.
He stated that President Muizzu lacks any fundamental understanding of economic policy. He further noted that despite the total collapse of the national economy, the President remains incapable of taking any effective action.
Despite the gravity of the situation, President Muizzu appears oblivious to the plight of the people. This stems from his lack of understanding of economic policy; as the national economy teeters on the brink of collapse, he seems entirely unconcerned by the unfolding crisis.Former Deputy Minister Saudulla Ahmed
He noted that the dollar exchange rate has now risen above 20 Rufiyaa. Given that the country is heavily dependent on imports, he stated that this situation poses significant hardships for the citizens.
Saudulla Ahmed, who held office during the previous administration, made these remarks while sharply criticizing the current government's economic policies. He noted that the rising cost of living has become a significant burden for the public, who are now facing severe economic hardships.
