The government’s chief spokesperson, Mohamed Hussain Shareef, has announced that an additional 710 housing units will be added to the ongoing projects managed by the Bank of Maldives (BML). This expansion follows the initial allocation of 3,260 units across Hulhumale’ Phase I, Phase II, and Villimale’, and comes in light of the bank's current capacity to undertake further development.
Shareef made these remarks during Saturday's session of the "Press with the Spokes" series, in response to a journalist's inquiry regarding the government's ongoing housing projects.
In his remarks, Shareef stated that contractors have been appointed and design drawings finalized for all but one of the projects assigned to BML. The Chief Spokesperson further noted that, as a result, these projects have now reached the stage where physical work can commence.
