The Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has decided to hold flag-hoisting ceremonies across all inhabited islands of the Maldives to commemorate its 21st anniversary.
According to the MDP Secretariat, flag-hoisting ceremonies will be held across the Maldives at 6:00 AM on June 26, 2026. While all MDP supporters have been invited to participate in these ceremonies, the main event in Malé is scheduled to take place at the MDP Haruge.
The Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has held office twice in the Maldives. While the MDP has established itself as the most popular political party among the Maldivian people, former President Mohamed Nasheed was recently elected to the position of party chairperson.
The MDP remains the only political party consistently advocating for the rights of the people and working tirelessly to establish a full democracy in the Maldives.
