Addu City Council opens applications for advisory committees
The Addu City Council has opened applications for six advisory committees to provide guidance on the council's fifth term operations. Interested individuals must submit their applications to bureau@adducity.gov.mv by the deadline of 12:00 PM on Monday, June 29, 2026.

The Addu City Council has officially opened applications for members to join advisory committees established to provide guidance on the council's operations for its fifth term.
This decision was made under subsections (a), (b), and (c) of Article 93 of the General Procedural Regulation for Local Councils, aimed at strengthening the council's operations. Under this initiative, advisory committees will be established across six key sectors.
The committees scheduled to be established include the Religious Advisory Committee, Youth Advisory Committee, Fisheries and Agriculture Advisory Committee, Business and Tourism Advisory Committee, Environment Advisory Committee, and the Social Advisory Committee.
The City Council has announced that interested candidates must submit their applications specifying the desired committee, along with documentation verifying their educational qualifications and professional experience in the relevant field. The deadline for submissions is 12:00 PM on Monday, June 29, 2026. Applications should be emailed to bureau@adducity.gov.mv.
According to the Council, priority will be given to candidates with relevant educational qualifications and professional experience when appointing members to the committees. This initiative is viewed as a significant step toward increasing public participation in the city's development and social affairs.
