In a recent vote held to decide whether Hulhudhoo, Meedhoo, and Feydhoo should separate from the Addu City Council and form their own administrative councils, residents of Meedhoo and Hulhudhoo have voted in favor of separation, while Feydhoo chose to remain under the Addu City Council.

According to provisional results, 1,782 votes in Feydhoo opposed the creation of a separate council, while 615 supported it. In contrast, Meedhoo recorded 841 votes in favor of forming its own council and 144 against. Hulhudhoo followed a similar trend, with 720 votes supporting separation and 325 opposing it.
