The man reported missing from Addu City has been located.

Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that they have been able to contact the man who was reported missing from Hithadhoo district of southernmost Addu City.

Ubaidulla Hassan, 28, was reported missing on Sunday evening, after he was last seen at around 8pm on September 27 near Guraisha Manzil of Hithadhoo.

In their efforts to locate Hassan, the police institution was able to contact him at around 12:50am on Monday.

Hassan is reportedly safe and onboard a fishing vessel.

Police had initially sought public assistance to find the man.

The missing persons report comes at a time a 27-year-old man who was employed as a barista in Meraki Café, was found dead a fortnight after he was reported missing from Hulhumalé, on Sunday.
