Ibrahim Ziyath has resigned from his position as the Deputy CEO of Maldives Ports Limited (MPL), the state-owned enterprise responsible for managing the country's commercial ports.
According to reports, Ziyath resigned from his position in May. The specific reason for his resignation has not been disclosed.
While Ziyath has resigned from his post, he was previously removed from the MPL board on May 1. Reports indicate that his removal was to facilitate the appointment of Mohamed Lamaan, the Deputy Managing Director of Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL), to the board.

Lamaan resigned from his position as Deputy Managing Director of MACL on April 30, 2026, amid numerous allegations of corruption. However, he continues to deny these accusations.
Despite Ziyath's resignation, MPL continues to have three Deputy CEOs, including Lam-an.
