Meekail Ahmed Naseem has congratulated former President Mohamed Nasheed following his victory in the election for the chairperson of the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP).
Meekail extended his congratulations in a post on X following the announcement of the election results.
Meekail stated that as soon as the election results were finalized, he called President Nasheed to congratulate him on his decisive victory. He further assured that he remains committed to working alongside the party in its future endeavors.
In his post, Meekail further stated that he would work with renewed resolve to keep the MDP united and ensure the party's victory in the 2028 presidential election. He also affirmed that he would always remain steadfast alongside the party's general membership.
Reflecting on the intense election campaign, Meekail expressed his special gratitude to the general members who supported him with their votes. Furthermore, he highlighted the tireless and courageous efforts of his campaign team, stating that he offers them his sincerest thanks from the bottom of his heart.
