PG Office yet to decide on charges against Eesha
The Prosecutor General's Office has stated that a final decision has yet to be made regarding potential charges against Aishath Eesha Ashraf in connection with the documentary "Aisha" published by Adhadhu news. While Eesha remains under investigation for allegedly defaming the President, formal charges have already been filed against the CEO and Editor of Adhadhu in relation to the same case.

The Prosecutor General’s Office has stated that a decision has not yet been reached on whether to press charges against Aishath Eesha Ashraf, following a police investigation into the "Aisha Documentary" published on Adhadhu news’ social media platforms.
Aishath Eesha Ashraf, who has held various positions at the President's Office and within the government, was summoned by the police on allegations of involvement in a documentary titled "Aisha." The documentary, which allegedly defames President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, was shared via the Adhadhu Online account on X on March 28, 2024.
When questioned regarding the potential prosecution of Isha, Ahmed Shafeeu, the spokesperson and Public Prosecutor for the Prosecutor General’s Office, stated that no decision has yet been reached. He further noted that the investigation into Isha’s involvement in the case is still ongoing.
Police have previously questioned the CEO of Adhadhu, Hussain Fiyaz Moosa, along with the outlet’s editor, Hassan Mohamed, in connection with this case. Charges of defamation have now been formally filed against both individuals.
