President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s press conference, which was scheduled for Monday, has been cancelled without an official reason being provided.
President Muizzu announced during the opening session of this year's People's Majlis that he will meet with the press every Monday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. At the time, the President stated that this practice would commence in March. President Muizzu further noted that these weekly press briefings will be held every Monday, provided he is not away from the capital on official travel.
The President's Office informed media outlets on Sunday night that a press conference was scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Monday morning. However, shortly after 8:00 a.m. on Monday, the President's Office announced that the press conference had been canceled. The office did not provide a reason for the decision to call off the briefing.
