Exact number of applicants disqualified from housing list remains unclear; same response given three months ago!
Housing Minister Dr. Abdulla Muthalib has announced that efforts are underway to remove approximately 460 applicants deemed ineligible from the "Gedhoruveriya" flat list. The Minister noted that the exact figure will only be confirmed once all pending cases are finalized, while further assuring that no individuals who scored below the established point threshold will be included in the final list.

Minister of Construction and Housing, Dr. Abdulla Muththalib, has stated that while the process of removing ineligible applicants from the "Gedhoruveriya" flat list has been carried out, it remains difficult to specify the exact number of individuals excluded so far.
The Minister has faced questions regarding this matter previously. When the issue was raised during a government press conference three months ago, the Minister stated that the figures would be verified.
During Tuesday's press conference, in response to a query from RaajjeTV regarding the latest updates on the matter, the Minister stated that several cases remain ongoing. Consequently, the Minister noted that it is currently difficult to provide a definitive figure.
The Minister stated that approximately 460 individuals are expected to be removed from the list for failing to meet the eligibility criteria.
However, the Minister stated that a specific figure can only be provided once the ongoing work is fully completed and all necessary details have been verified.
"There are still some cases that have not been fully resolved. However, if I recall correctly—though this is not the exact figure—it is somewhere around 460. As I mentioned, because the process is not entirely complete, a few remaining cases are yet to be finalized."Minister of Housing, Dr. Abdulla Muththalib
The Minister further stated that no individual who scored below the established point threshold has been included in the list.
However, the Minister noted that since the number of eligible applicants exceeds the available units, some individuals will inevitably be left out.
The Minister has previously stated that there will be no need to announce a new list, as the current administration does not intend to make changes to the existing one, even if some applicants are disqualified for failing to meet the requirements.
