President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that children are facing emerging threats in the digital world, emphasizing that parents and teachers must remain vigilant to ensure their safety.
As May 10th marks the joyous occasion of Children's Day in the Maldives, President Muizzu extended his greetings and well wishes, emphasizing that today serves as a vital opportunity to renew our commitment and resolve toward protecting children's rights and fostering a nurturing environment for their growth.
President Muizzu has emphasized that children require immense love and compassion as they grow, stating that it is the duty of every adult to provide encouragement and guidance within both the family and school environments. Highlighting that today's children are the future leaders of the nation, the President stressed the importance of collective efforts to raise a generation characterized by good moral conduct, well-versed in noble Islamic principles and traditional Maldivian values.
President Muizzu stated that children represent the nation's future, emphasizing that providing them with quality education and a proper upbringing is a profound responsibility shared by the government and the entire community. He further noted that the government remains committed to ensuring children have access to essential healthcare services and high-quality education.
President Muizzu stated that the government is working to ensure every Maldivian child has the opportunity to grow and develop within the school system. The President further emphasized that one of the state's highest priorities is to protect children from all forms of abuse and to establish a safe environment for them.
Furthermore, President Muizzu stated that children are facing emerging threats within the digital landscape.
President Muizzu stated that while modern devices are provided to children to facilitate contemporary education and entertainment, these tools are exposing some children to significant and irreversible risks.
He emphasized that on such an occasion, teachers and parents must adopt new perspectives for the sake of children's rights. He further appealed to all stakeholders to work together with resilience to build a healthy future generation.
