President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has urged the people to raise their children to embody nationalism and discipline, as well as to uphold Islamic values.
The president said this in a message delivered on the occasion of Children's Day on Friday.
In his address, the president shed light on the significance of bringing up children to embrace the principles of Islam, nationalism, and leadership.
Highlighting that the responsibility falls on everyone, the president assured the people that his administration remains dedicated to work together with parents, guardians, and communities to ensure the welfare of all children.
Shedding light on his administration’s initiatives to enhance the well-being of children, Muizzu noted that he had on several occasions reaffirmed his commitment to implement various projects aimed for the progress of children, nationwide.
Revealing plans to construct libraries nationwide which would in turn provide access to knowledge and enrichment for children, the president went on to emphasize the teachings derived from the Late Mohamed Jameel Didi's story, 'Hahthahaaves Dhareenneve'.
As such, Muizzu urged the people to really take in the important morals of the story and highlighted that treating every child with compassion, regardless of their birth status, and offering them care and support is always met with peace.
Praying for the well-being of all children, especially those who have lost their homes, parents, and guardians, the president also prayed for the almighty Allah’s promised blessings in Jannah for the children martyred in Palestine and Allah's mercy upon all children facing martyrdom.
Before concluding his address, the president called on the public to strive for a better future for children as well as the entire nation.
