A major power outage has hit a large area of Hulhumale' Phase II due to a technical issue, affecting several Hiyaa and Aman Udhares towers, as well as the Vinares and MPL flats. A significant portion of Hulhumale' Phase 2 experienced a power outage starting at approximately 1:45 p.m. on Saturday.
STELCO has announced that a technical issue has caused a power outage in parts of Hulhumale' Phase II. The utility provider stated that efforts are currently underway to identify and resolve the problem to restore services.
Stelco has reported power outages affecting Hiyaa Towers 5, 6, and 7, all 10 Vinares towers, and the MPL towers. Additionally, electricity has been cut to Aman Dhoadhi 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16, as well as Aman Udhares 5 and 6.
Furthermore, STELCO has apologized for any inconvenience caused to customers due to the power interruption.
The frequency of sudden power outages in Hulhumale' has escalated significantly in recent times. On the 12th of this month, several areas in Hulhumale' Phase 2 experienced a blackout. The outage, which affected the Hiyaa Towers, left residents without electricity for the greater part of the day.
