Former President Mohamed Nasheed has called for the formation of an all-party transitional government, asserting that President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has lost the public's confidence.
In a post on X, former President Nasheed stated that the President has lost confidence in his cabinet, while the public has simultaneously lost confidence in the President himself. Furthermore, he highlighted that the adverse effects of ongoing global conflicts have begun to exert a significant impact on the Maldivian economy.
Nasheed has called for the formation of an interim government comprising all political parties to implement essential structural reforms and facilitate the organization of free and fair elections to overcome the current crisis.
