Higher Education Minister Dr. Haidar resigns
Several cabinet members, including the Minister of Higher Education, resigned from their posts on Tuesday alongside the ministers of Environment, Agriculture, Health, Defence, and Youth, while several others were dismissed. The government has yet to disclose the specific reasons behind these sudden administrative changes.

Dr. Ali Haidar Ahmed, who most recently served as the Minister of Higher Education in President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s administration, has resigned from his post.
While Haidar resigned from his post on Tuesday, the reason for his departure remains unclear. In addition to Haidar, several other cabinet members have also stepped down, including Minister of Climate Change, Environment and Energy Thoriq Ibrahim, Minister of Agriculture and Animal Welfare Dr. Mariyam Maariya, Minister of Health Abdulla Nazim, Minister of Defence Mohamed Ghassan Maumoon, and Minister of Youth Empowerment, Information and Arts Ibrahim Waheed.
Furthermore, on Tuesday, the Minister of Cities, Local Government and Public Works, Adam Shareef Umar, Foreign Minister Dr. Abdulla Khaleel, and Minister of Social and Family Development Dr. Aishath Shiham were removed from their posts.
