MWSC Managing Director Matheen resigns
Abdul Matheen Mohamed has resigned as the Managing Director of MWSC amid a series of leadership changes within state-owned enterprises. His departure follows the recent resignations of the heads of MIFCO and MPL, occurring at a time when the government is reportedly restructuring the top management of several public companies.

Abdul Matheen has resigned from his position as the Managing Director of Male' Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC).
Matheen resigned from his post on Sunday afternoon. He did not disclose a specific reason for his departure. In a post on X, Matheen confirmed that he has stepped down from his position as the Managing Director of MWSC.
Matheen was appointed to the position following the change of administration in 2023. His resignation comes amid reports that the President's Office has been removing heads of state-owned enterprises from their posts or requesting their resignations.
In addition to the aforementioned resignation, Faruhath Shaheer, the Managing Director of MIFCO, also stepped down on Sunday. His departure follows that of Mohamed Rishwan, who resigned as CEO of MPL last week. Prior to these developments, Mohamed Najah was also removed from his position as CEO of Fenaka.
