Malé Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has installed a solar power system in Dhuvaafaru island of Raa atoll.

In a bid to enhance the company’s services to the public and to provide them in an environmentally-friendly manner, MWSC planted the additional solar grid of 35 kWp in the Raa atoll island to increase the generation of clean energy.

This comes in addition to the 48kWp solar grid that was already installed at the operations center of the island years ago.

With the additional grid, the island’s clean energy generation capacity has increased to 83kWp.

Since 2012, the company has been working to pave environmentally-friendly ways to generate energy through its clean energy project.

The company currently generates 578kWp of clean energy and has operation centers spanning the capital region, Maafushi island of Kaafu atoll, Kulhudhuffushi City in Haa Dhaal atoll as well as Dhuvaafaru.
