Fifty-six accidents occurred across Male’, the bridge, and the highway over the past week
Police statistics reveal that 56 people sustained various injuries in road accidents across the Greater Male' Area between March 22 and 28, with one individual reported to be in serious condition. The highest number of incidents occurred on March 25, including seven cases where drivers fled the scene after the collision. Consequently, the police have urged the public to prioritize road safety and strictly adhere to traffic regulations.

A total of 56 accidents were reported over the past week across Male’, the Sinamale’ Bridge, and the highway.
According to police statistics for accidents reported in Male’, the Sinamale’ Bridge, and the highway between March 22 and 28, a total of 49 accidents occurred in Male’ alone. Looking at the daily breakdown for the past week, the highest number of incidents was reported on March 25. On that day alone, 13 accidents were recorded.
Accidents reported during this period include 14 collisions between motorcycles and cars, as well as 14 collisions involving two motorcycles. These incidents also include seven cases of hit-and-runs where the parties involved failed to stop at the scene. A total of 56 individuals sustained various degrees of injury in these accidents, with one person reported to be in serious condition. Additionally, several vehicles involved in these incidents suffered varying levels of damage.

The police have urged all individuals to prioritize road safety and strictly adhere to traffic regulations when operating motor vehicles.
