President must bear responsibility for corruption occurring ahead of the elections, not the political appointees stationed across various institutions: Dr. Didi
He emphasized that it is far more critical to stop engaging in political theatrics and instead prioritize taking the substantive actions necessary to address the situation.

Former Chief Justice Dr. Ahmed Abdulla Didi has stated that public tax money was spent on corruption and indirect bribery leading up to the election, asserting that the President must take full responsibility for these actions.
Dr. Didi made these remarks in a post on X (formerly Twitter), responding to media reports that the government has instructed political appointees to submit performance reports as part of an initiative to reduce the number of political positions.
Dr. Didi stated that, in violation of Article 115 (l) of the Constitution, an excessive number of individuals have been appointed to positions within the administration beyond what is necessary for the President to fulfill his official duties.
Furthermore, he stated that as the election approached, public tax money was spent on corruption and indirect bribery, while powers and mandates were being misused.
Dr. Didi further stated that the political responsibility for this matter must be borne by the President and the entire administration, rather than individual political appointees. He added that the results of the government's performance are now clearly evident.
He further stated that it is far more important to cease the political theatrics and move swiftly toward implementing the necessary concrete measures.
The government is abruptly implementing a series of measures under the guise of cost-cutting. Furthermore, following the conclusion of recent elections, the anticipated surge in the prices of various goods and services—which many had predicted—is now beginning to materialize.
