Driver injured in an accident on reclaimed land in Hithadhoo on ventilator support
The driver involved in a serious high-speed car accident in Hithadhoo, Addu City, remains in critical condition and is currently on ventilator support. While the other three passengers involved in the crash received treatment at Addu Equatorial Hospital, the police have launched a formal investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The driver who sustained life-threatening injuries in a serious accident on the reclaimed land in Hithadhoo, Addu City, is currently being treated on a ventilator, according to IGMH.
Police reported that the accident occurred at approximately 16:50 on March 21, when a speeding car lost control and overturned. While all four occupants of the vehicle sustained various injuries, the driver is reported to be in serious condition.
Due to the severity of the injuries sustained, the driver was transferred to IGMH on Saturday night for further medical treatment.
An IGMH media official told RaajjeMV that a 42-year-old Maldivian man injured in the accident is currently receiving treatment. The official further confirmed that the victim is currently on ventilator support.
While his condition remains critical, the other three occupants of the car were treated at Addu Equatorial Hospital. However, the hospital has not yet provided an official statement regarding their status. According to available information, those three individuals did not sustain any serious injuries.
As police continue their investigation into the accident, it is noted that Addu City has previously witnessed several fatal road accidents.
