The Elections Commission has decided to extend the signing of the voters' list through this coming Saturday, following a temporary suspension caused by a fire at a warehouse adjacent to the Election Center.
According to an announcement made by the Elections Commission on Thursday, the deadline has been extended for candidates to sign the final voter registry for the Local Council and Women's Development Committee elections scheduled for Saturday, April 4, 2026. This extension also applies to the registry for the public referendum regarding the question posed in Presidential Decree No. 2026/2. Candidates or their designated representatives will now have the opportunity to sign the registry on Saturday, March 21, between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
During this period, the signing of the final voters' registry will take place at the Social Centre.
The fire that broke out in a warehouse adjacent to the Election Center has necessitated several changes to the administrative operations of the upcoming election. However, the Elections Commission has provided assurances that all electoral proceedings will continue as scheduled.
