Mohamed Ihusan, a member of the opposition MDP’s National Congress, stated that the government’s lack of preparedness for a regional crisis became evident the moment the Head of State suggested there was no cause for concern regarding the outbreak of war in the Middle East.
Speaking on Raajje TV’s "Fala Surukhee" program, Ihusan stated that the government is failing to remain vigilant or take adequate measures to mitigate the potential economic impacts on the Maldives resulting from the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
Ihusan stated that the conflict in the Middle East is impacting global supply chains, and the resulting tremors will inevitably affect the Maldivian economy.
