Member of Parliament for Vaikaradhoo constituency, Hussain Ziyad (Fittey), has stated that the MDP leadership’s ongoing campaign trips across the atolls for the Local Council and Women’s Development Committee elections have revealed a highly promising outlook. He noted that, in particular, the public appears ready to deliver a resounding "no" in the upcoming referendum.

Ziyad made these remarks during an interview with Raajje TV during a visit to Haa Dhaalu Atoll, as part of the MDP leadership's nationwide tour for the Local Council and Women's Development Committee elections. He noted that the visit by MDP teams to the islands has revitalized the once-fading enthusiasm and momentum among supporters, adding that campaign activities are now proceeding with great energy.

Overall, MDP candidates are performing remarkably well despite facing significant pressure and influence. Campaign efforts vary across different islands; in some locations, they are campaigning openly and vigorously in the signature MDP style. In other islands, the campaign remains low-key, yet there is a strong sense of optimism.

Furthermore, Ziyad stated that the original spirit and energy of the MDP can still be seen across the islands of the Maldives, adding that he remains hopeful this spirit will be further revitalized in the future.

Ziyad stated that the momentum observed during campaign travels across the atolls indicates that the MDP is on track for a landslide victory in the two upcoming polls: the local council elections and the referendum.
