The Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has successfully conducted its door-to-door campaign activity in the West Henveiru constituency.
Speaking at an event held on Sunday afternoon, Male' Mayor and mayoral candidate Adam Azim stated that current PNC council members are failing even to attend council meetings. Azim remarked that such individuals would be unable to serve the public effectively if re-elected to the council.
"The people want to move forward with the work of the MDP. This government cannot even resolve the housing land issues. It is the MDP that works on matters directly related to the people," Azim said.
Participating in the door-to-door campaign activity, North Galolhu Councilor Saif Fathih (Aiko) expressed astonishment that the government had the audacity to field candidates and campaign for the council elections. He remarked that before discussing policies, it would be more appropriate for the government to explain why its councilors have been failing to attend official meetings.
"How can anything be achieved without even showing up? What more is there to say about those who fail to even make an appearance?" he said.
During the door-to-door campaign activities in the constituency, candidates met with the public to listen to their concerns firsthand. Furthermore, they provided residents with clear information regarding the MDP's policies and vision.
