Police investigate Sh. Maungoodhoo Youth Associate for allegedly choking a minor
A source familiar with the matter told RaajjeMV that visible injuries were observed on the 16-year-old victim's neck after Mohamed Nazim allegedly strangled the minor during the altercation.

Police have launched an investigation into allegations that Mohamed Nazim, the Youth Associate for Sh. Maaungoodhoo appointed by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, assaulted a 16-year-old.
Regarding the incident, a police media official told "RaajjeMV" that a case involving the assault of a 16-year-old boy in Maaungoodhoo was reported to the police on the night of February 4th. Police further confirmed that the victim received medical treatment at the Maaungoodhoo Hospital for injuries sustained during the altercation.

A source familiar with the details of the case told "RaajjeMV" that Mohamed Nazim attacked the child by strangulation, leaving visible marks of injury on the victim's neck. However, police stated that no arrests have been made in connection with the case so far.
A source from the island stated that there is little hope for a fair investigation into the case, as the suspect, Mohamed Nazim, is known to have close ties with influential figures within the current administration.
Public concern is mounting over the perceived failure of relevant authorities to take action against individuals in political positions within the current administration who are accused of various offenses. The police are currently conducting a further investigation into this matter.
