President Muizzu departs for Germany; details of delegation remain undisclosed

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has departed for Germany on an official visit, following an invitation from German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
The President is scheduled to undertake this visit from February 9 to 13.
According to the President's Office, the President is scheduled to hold high-level talks with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and other senior government officials during this visit. In addition to hosting a business forum in Germany, the President is also expected to visit Humboldt University in Berlin to deliver a keynote address on "Maldives' Experience in Climate Adaptation." Furthermore, the President is scheduled to visit and deliver a speech at the German Council on Foreign Relations as part of his official itinerary.
According to media reports citing government officials, President Muizzu is accompanied by a delegation of 22 officials on this trip. However, the President's Office has not disclosed specific details regarding the individuals participating in the visit.
Furthermore, the President's Office noted that President Muizzu’s visit coincides with the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Maldives and Germany.
Diplomatic relations between the Maldives and Germany were established on July 5, 1966.
