Former MP Musthafa calls for the brutal assassination of former President Solih; Police yet to comment!
Former Member of Parliament for the Thimarafushi constituency, Mohamed Musthafa, has come under fire for inflammatory social media posts targeting former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and former State Minister Akram Kamaludeen, in which he asserted that both individuals should be executed by hanging.

Former Thimarafushi MP Mohamed Musthafa has called for the brutal assassination of former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
In a post on X, he tagged former President Solih and directed profanity toward him. Musthafa stated that former President Solih should be executed by hanging. He further remarked that Solih was fortunate that someone like him was not in power.
Despite repeated inquiries from journalists regarding Musthafa’s post, the police have yet to provide a response. Consequently, it remains unclear whether the authorities intend to investigate the matter.
hIn a subsequent post, Musthafa asserted that if Islamic law were strictly enforced, individuals such as former President Solih and former State Minister for Housing Akram Kamaludeen would no longer be alive. Musthafa further claimed that in a country like China, such figures would have already been executed by hanging.
Musthafa did not disclose the specific reason behind these posts. However, he has previously alleged that President Solih owes him $1.7 million. Despite these claims, Musthafa has not shared any evidence or documentation regarding the funds in his posts.
