Police announce public auction for a stock of sea cucumbers currently in their custody
The deadline for auction registration is 11:00 AM on Sunday, February 15, 2026, with the bidding process scheduled to take place at Dhoonidhoo on Monday, February 16, 2026, starting at 10:00 AM.

The Maldives Police Service has announced its decision to sell a large quantity of confiscated sea cucumbers through a public auction.
According to the police, the auction will feature eight different species of sea cucumber for sale.
In an announcement on Monday, the police stated that the starting bid for all varieties of sea cucumber scheduled for auction is set at a minimum of MVR 300 per kilogram. They include sea apple cucumber, leopard sea cucumber, sea pen sea cucumber or feather-tailed sea cucumber, black sea cucumber, pink swimming sea cucumber, tiger tail sea cucumber, white sea cucumber, and deep-sea sea cucumber.

Interested parties wishing to participate in the auction must first complete the registration process. To do so, applicants are required to fill out the "Auction Registration Form" published with the announcement and email it, along with a copy of their national identification card, to finance.asset@police.gov.mv or am_c2096@police.gov.mv. Upon receipt of the application, the police service will issue a confirmation email to verify the registration.
The deadline for auction registration is 11:00 AM on Sunday, February 15, 2026. Police stated that no applications will be accepted after the designated deadline and emphasized that participation in the auction is strictly limited to those who have submitted their registration forms.
The auction is scheduled to take place in Dhoonidhoo at 10:00 AM on Monday, February 16, 2026. Participants are required to gather at Male' Jetty No. 3 (located in front of the Shaheed Hussain Adam Building) by 10:00 AM on that day for transport. The auction will be conducted through an open oral bidding process in the presence of all attendees.
Police have stated that individuals attending the auction must bring a copy of their national identification card. The authority also noted that those who arrive after the scheduled time will not be permitted to participate.
