MPL employee dies after collapsing on duty

Customs clearance at Maldives ports
An employee of Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has died after suffering a seizure while on duty and being taken to hospital for treatment.
The incident occurred on Thursday morning at approximately 10:46am. The deceased has been identified as Abdul Hameed, 30, from Dhevvadhoo island of Gaaf Alif Atoll.
MPL revealed that Hameed suffered a seizure while at work and fell into the sea. He was rescued from the water and transported to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), where he passed away while receiving emergency medical care.
Hameed joined MPL in 2020.
Following his death, MPL stated that the company’s management and staff have extended condolences to his family.
