Authorities have confirmed that a young adult was found dead in a daily rental room.
The individual was discovered dead in a room rented on a daily basis in Galolhu, Malé, at around 2:15am on Thursday.
The dead body was found in the bathroom of the room. Upon receiving the report of the death, the Maldives Police Service (MPS) immediately dispatched a team and became active at the scene.
RaajjeMV understands that the deceased has been identified as Ibrahim Sifaadh, 32 from Velidhoo island of Noonu atoll. However, the police institution has not provided further details regarding this death.
When discovered, the man's body was already in a state of rigor mortis. He had rented the room from the guesthouse on Tuesday, and was reportedly seen on the premises as recently as Wednesday morning.
When the guesthouse staff received no further contact from him, they entered his rented room and found him unresponsive in the bathroom. Authorities were then notified and provided with his personal details.
Further investigations are currently underway in connection with the case.
