Staff instructed to stand, show respect during minister's visits

Employees at the Ministry of Education have been instructed to stand up and show respect when Minister of Education Dr. Ismail Shafeeu and other ministerial-rank officials visit the ministry's sections.

The employees of the education ministry have been instructed to stand up as a sign of respect whenever these officials visit any section, via email.

In addition to this, the email instructed employees to address the minister or officials of similar rank with a smile.

The email was sent by Umniyya Mustafa, Senior Administrative Officer at the ministry.

The leaked email has sparked widespread criticism on social media, with many members of the public condemning the directive. Critics argue that respect cannot be demanded by force, labeling the instruction as authoritarian in nature.
