Bank of Maldives (BML) has revised its policy, lifting the USD 125 ATM withdrawal cap within the USD 750 monthly card limit for Maldivians living abroad.
The country’s national bank on June 30 announced their decision to make a significant change to the bank's debit card limit. With this change, the dollar limit provided at the bank rate for each debit card has been increased to USD 500 effective July 1.
The amount that can be withdrawn from abroad using the debit card was set at USD 125 per month. BML also stated that they would charge a USD 10 ATM fee for cash withdrawal transactions.
As the public continued to express concerns about this, it has now been decided to arrange for Maldivians abroad to be able to withdraw up to USD 750.
