The second match of the ongoing Football Association of Maldives (FAM) Veterans League between Da Grande and Muiveyo has ended in a draw.
The match played on Tuesday evening at the Maafannu Turf Ground in Group B ended in a 1 – 1 draw between the two teams. Da Grande scored the first goal of the match to take the lead. However, Muiveyo managed to come from behind, scoring a goal to equalize the score.
In the first half of the match, while both teams had opportunities to score, neither team managed to find the back of the net. Both teams scored their goals in the second half of the match.
Early in the second half, Ibrahim Zaeem converted a penalty awarded to Da Grande, giving them the lead. The penalty was granted when Muiveyo goalkeeper fouled a Da Grande player inside Muiveyo's area.
However, two minutes later, Muiveyo equalized the score. Ahmed Niyaz scored the equalizer for the team. Later in the match, Muiveyo scored another goal, but the referee decided not to allow it as the player was offside.
Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef plays for the Muiveyo team. The Vice President had also played in the Veterans League held during the fasting month of Ramadan last year.
On Wednesday, Zelot from Group A will face Dhivehi Sifainge Club (DSC).
