Addu City has secured a spot in the second round of the ongoing 90 Plus Gold Cup football tournament.
Addu City went head-to-head with K. Huraa in their final match of the group stage on Monday night.
Addu City won the match played at the Galolhu National Stadium 1 – 0.
Addu's previous group stage matches against K. Guraidhoo and Lh. Kurendhoo ended in draws.
Addu scored their goal in the first half in the match against Huraa.
Addu's first and only goal was scored by Ibrahim Waheed Hassan from an opportunity created by Hazim Fauzy.
Addu had several more opportunities to score more goals in the game. On the other hand, Huraa also worked tirelessly to equalize the score. However, Huraa was unable to capitalize on any of the opportunities they received.
With this victory, Addu secured a place in the second round and is currently at the top of Group C with five points from three matches played in the group. Huraa has also played three matches and is in third place with three points. Guraidhoo is in second place with four points, while Kurendhoo is at the bottom with only one point. The final match of the group will be between Guraidhoo and Kurendhoo.
