Victory Sports Club needs to acquire three points in their match against United Victory to be included in the top four slots of the Malé league, the team’s coach has said.
The team’s coach, Ali Suzein, said at a press conference that if they do not acquire said three points, they would lose any chance of being a significant club in the league.
While he stressed on the importance of acquiring enough to be included in the top four slots of the league, describing it as ‘compulsory’, Suzein said that the team needs to work hard in preparation for the match.
While Victory prepares for the high-pressure match, two of their stronger players will not be taking part in the upcoming match.
The coach had further praised his midfielder Mohamed ‘Baka’ Arif, and commended him for his performance in a recent match against Maziya Sports Club.
As such, he said he hopes the Football Association of Maldives will choose him to be part of the national team, adding that it would only serve to improve the team’s performance.
Victory has acquired 11 points from the eight matches they have played thus far and is in the sixth position of the league table.
The team has won three matches thus far while two ended evenly. Victory has lost three matches in the league.
