The Maldivian leader has attended the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Council of Ministers of the government of India.
The ceremony was held at Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi on Sunday.
Modi is the first three-term Prime Minister to be sworn in since former PM Jawaharlal Nehru.
The oath of office was administered to Modi by Indian President Droupadi Murmu at the ceremony.
The ceremony was attended by thousands of dignitaries, including leaders from neighboring countries.
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu was part of the photograph taken with Modi and other Heads of State and government, following the swearing-in ceremony.
Muizzu departed to the neighboring country on Saturday evening and was received by one of the senior-most officials currently at the Ministry of External Affairs, Pavan Kapoor, Secretary (West), and Ibrahim Shaheeb, High Commissioner of Maldives to India alongside Munu Mahawar, High Commissioner of India to the Maldives, upon his arrival at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi.
This marks his first-ever official visit to India since assuming office on 17 November 2023.
Muizzu is accompanied by a high-level delegation of senior government officials, including Minister Zameer.
President Muizzu was invited to the ceremony by PM Modi, which he graciously accepted.
High Commissioner Mahawar presented the letter of invitation to the Maldivian president during a courtesy call paid at the President's Office.
