Bottles of alcohol in police custody, confiscated during multiple operations, has been destroyed.
In a publication on Monday, the Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that the alcohol bottles were destroyed in Dhoonidhoo island.
Destroyed were 86 branded bottles, 48 PET bottles and 293 cans of beer.
30 other paraphernalia were destroyed as well.
The destroyed alcohol and beers included those in custody involved in filed cases, as well as bottles and cans taken into the custody of the Hulhumalé Police Station, tourist police as well as the Drug Enforcement Department (DED) in connection with incidents, where there were no records of accused suspects.
The alcohol was destroyed under the supervision of the relevant police committee and under the set legal procedure for it.
