The development needs of Kudahuvadhoo island of Dhaal atoll, have been shared with President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.

This was done during a meeting he held with the island’s council and Women's Development Committee (WDC) members on Tuesday.

The meeting saw discussions revolving around concerns regarding insufficient space at the island’s harbor region as well as the council’s plans to continue the project in line with the aspirations of the island community.

Councilors also shed light on the significance of expediting the expansion of essential utility services, including water and electricity networks, to newly populated areas on the island.

In addition to this, the president was also briefed on the need to construct more housing units on the island, establish a fish processing factory, address issues faced due to beach erosion as well as efforts to enhance the healthcare services on the island.

The island’s WDC members requested the government to resume the service of issuing national ID cards on the island.

Listening to these concerns, the president assured the members that his administration would address the issues raised by the council and seek solutions to tackle them, through consultations with relevant authorities.

Members of the president’s Cabinet of Ministers accompanying him on the tour shared latest updates linked to the issues raised, at the meeting.
