Several development projects are scheduled to commence in southernmost Addu City within the year.
This was revealed by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu during a meeting he held with residents of Addu’s Hulhudhoo Meedhoo district, as part of his tour of some islands in the south of Maldives which he began on Sunday morning.
Taking the podium at the meeting, the president announced that some of the development projects scheduled to kick off in the southernmost city throughout the year include the development of the Addu City Hulhudhoo Meedhoo Bridge, upgrading of Gan International Airport, tourism expansion, and the construction of a seaplane hub.
Assuring that he is fully commited to his pledges, Muizzu stated that he sincerely intends to deliver on the commitments made.
He also pledged to upgrade the Hulhudhoo Meedhoo Health Center to a hospital.
Highlighting that necessary resources would be established at the health center, Muizzu also pledged to develop Addu Equatorial Hospital to higher standards which would ensure enhanced services are provided to the residents and would eliminate the need for traveling to the capital city to acquire healthcare services.
Further, he assured that his administration would implement reclamation, road development, and other initiatives necessary for the island’s progress.
