The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has given the go ahead to allocate flats under the ‘Gedhoruveriyaa’ scheme, to the Housing Ministry.
ACC concluded its probe into the 4,000 flats to be allocated under the social housing scheme on Thursday and gave the ministry the green light to begin allocating flats.
In a message sent out to media, ACC revealed that they wrapped up the investigation in connection with the 4,000 flats to be issued under the scheme. Due to the probe, the ministry was instructed to stop the process under which flats were being issued to recipients.
The message also reads that the commission has directed the ministry to take into consideration certain factors when dealing with the issuance of flats, announced under the housing scheme.
The anti-corruption watchdog has directed the ministry to not bring any change to the forms awarding points, as per the basic principles and conditions and on the review of the forms that have issues, ACC noted that there should be a uniform procedure to be followed without any discrimination in the review process.
