The design and build component of the shore protection project ongoing in Milandhoo island of Shaviyani atoll is well underway.
This was revealed by the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) on Tuesday.
As such, taking to social media platform ‘X’ to provide the latest updates of the Milandhoo shore protection project to the public, MTCC revealed that work on the design and build of shore protection structures is currently underway.
The company has reached an overall 53 percent of progress in the project.
MTCC most recently delivered the fifth shipment of rock boulders required under the project, to the project site.
Under the scope of the project, MTCC is required to construct a revetment measuring 954.43 meters and a groyne measuring 114.56 meters.
The shore protection project in Milandhoo island is valued at MVR 34.61 million.
The project was mobilized on 7 May 2022.
