MTCC begins work on R. Innamaadhoo shore protection project

MTCC delivered the first shipment of rock boulders during September 2023

Work on the shore protection project initiated in Innamaadhoo island of Raa atoll, has begun.

This was revealed by the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).

As such, providing the latest updates of the Innamaadhoo shore protection project to the public, MTCC revealed that they commenced the physical work of the project on 9 January 2024.

The company delivered the first shipment of rock boulders required for the project to the project site during September 2023.

The previous administration’s Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure contracted the project to MTCC.

The project entails groyne work in an area measuring 360 meters.

The Innamaadhoo shore protection project is valued at MVR 14.77 million.
