Ahmed Shareef has been appointed as the Chairperson of Police Board.
Shareef was appointed the Chairperson of Police Board during a board meeting.
The meeting also saw Aishath Noora Mohamed being appointed as the Vice Chairperson of the Police Board.
After dismissing some incumbent members of the board, President Dr. Mohammed Muizzu appointed new members to the Police Board last week.
The Police Board consists of seven members. They are two members that the president appoints, three members with professional training and experience, and two members that the public nominates.
Members of the board are;
- Ahmed Shareef - Member appointed by the President
- Aishath Noora Mohamed -Member appointed by the President
- Ali Naseer Qasim - Member with education and experience in a professional field
- Ahmed Azeem - Member with education and experience in a professional field
- Ahmed Saudi - Member with education and experience in a professional field
- Haamid Abdul Ghafoor - Member appointed by the public
- Safa Shareef - Member appointed by the public
