The Elections Commission (EC) has printed 285,631 ballot papers for the second round of the 2023 Presidential Election.

EC disclosed that the ballot papers were printed by Novelty Printers and Publishers Pvt.

While the Elections Commission has publicized the final list of voters as well, they stated that they will be sending the ballot boxes to the islands on Wednesday.

EC will be setting up a total of 586 ballot boxes for the second round of the 2023 Presidential Election. The second round will see 12 more ballot boxes compared to the first round of the election.

As such, four ballot boxes has been added to Male', two ballot boxes added to Hulhumale' Phase One, four ballot boxes added to Hulhumale' Phase Two, one ballot box added to Villimale' and one additional ballot box to be stationed in Trivandrum, India.

Additionally, 43 polling stations kept in small spaces during the first round of the election have been relocated to other spacious places for the second round of voting.

EC stated earlier that Ballot papers for the second round of the 2023 Presidential Election will be sent to the islands on 27th and 28th September.

The second round of voting in this year’s presidential election will take place from 8am to 5pm, on coming Saturday September 30.

With 409 new voters, a total of 282,804 are eligible to vote in the second round.

As the simple majority of votes required to form a government was not attained by any candidate, front runners Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih are heading for a run-off election.
