Bangladeshi investigative authorities have exhumed Raudha Athif’s body for another autopsy.
The Daily Star, a Bangladeshi newspaper, reported that the medical student’s body was exhumed by the Criminal Investigation Department, in the presence of her father, the investigative officer, and magistrate Raktim Chowdhury.
The father, Mohamed Athif – a doctor himself with a background in forensics – said that a forensic expert is to join him Dhaka in a few days.
Athif had raised questions about the circumstances surrounding his daughter’s death, the bruises on her body, and reported ‘contradicting statements’ from authorities.
She was found dead in her room at the Islami Bank Medical College on March 29. She was buried in Bangladesh on 1st April.
