A project to conduct channel dredging in Nolhivaranfaru island of Haa Dhaal atoll has been contracted to the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).
The contract was signed during a ceremony held at the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure on Wednesday.
Director General Fathimath Shana Farooq signed the agreement on behalf of the government and Chief Executive Officer Adam Azim signed it on behalf of MTCC.
Under the scope of the project, MTCC is required to conduct channel dredging operations in an area spanning 22,050 cubic meters.
The Nolhivaranfaru channel dredging project is valued at MVR 5.78 million.
The Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure contracted the project to MTCC, to be completed within 180 days.
