Hoarafushi Road Development Project nears completion

Hoarafushi Road Development Project
Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has disclosed that the Road Development Project of Hoarafushi Island of Haa Alifu Atoll is well underway.
MTCC disclosed that the project has seen 91 percent overall progress.
The company notes that they have completed the asphalt laying work under the project.
Currently under going is installation of streetlights with 70 percent progress.
Hoarafushi Road Development Project was contracted to the company by the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure on 8 April 2021. MTCC mobilized the project on 16 January 2022.
Under the scope of the project, MTCC is required to construct 11 roads measuring 5.3 kilometers in length.
Further, it also requires the construction of a carriageway measuring 25,909 square meters.
The installation of a stormwater infiltration system, streetlights, road markings and a pavement measuring 11,114 square meters, also come under the scope of the project.
The Hoarafushi road development project is valued at MVR 71.9 million and is to be completed within 470 days.
