The Family Court had received eight cases linked to domestic violence in May 2023.
The court revealed this via its statistics for May, publicized on Sunday.
As such, statistics revealed that eight cases of domestic violence were submitted to the court during May, with 10 orders issued as swift protection orders.
The court found that the orders could not be passed for two out of these cases.
Out of the cases submitted in April,10 were pending by the time May rolled around.
Statistics go on to show at six cases were pending, by the end of May.
Out of all the cases filed at the family court in the past month, 75 percent of them were filed by women.
According to marriage and divorce stats, 185 marriages were formalized in the past month, with 36 requests for divorce also having been received.
75 cases were submitted to approve divorce.
Out of the divorce cases, 132 were approved and 172 linked to divorce were also finalized.
As far as family issues are concerned, three cases were filed in May seeking to prove death, while no case was filed seeking peace.
22 out of the family cases submitted at the court in May, were completed.
The family court said four cases pertaining to proven expenses were filed in May. Four cases were filed seeking deduction of expenses for children.
